  • Is this a scam

    I checked my email this evening and saw i received a message or mail looking like a message from DHS/USCIS is this real and the email address is this real it came directly into my inbox or this is a phishing scam from someone claiming to be the DHS? And DHS did not last take action on my case on August 2...Below is the mail and email address. this is the supposed email [email protected]

    We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on August 2, 2018.

    No, that's not a scam. It's happened to others, too. Not all actions are listed on the DHS account. Believe the email, they took an action on August 2nd, 2018. My best guess is that your case file was likely transferred to the field office for interview. You can call and ask to speak to a Tier 2 rep and ask what the action of
    08-02-18 is. They will tell you. It's either that or an interview notice was sent in the mail. OR you know, it could be like our case "on 08-09-18 we canceled your interview" but doubt it.

        If you want to be 100% sure, login to their website thru the link you know, not the one in the email, and check for updates that match what it says.

          I have been recieving this message like clockwork every 2 weeks since my interview in April.

            Hi,

            If you log in to https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov and go to Settings, there in an option as below for Case Inactivity Notifications.
            If you turn it on, you will get inactivity notification every 2 weeks.

            Case inactivity notifications
            We send you a case inactivity notification every 2 weeks if we have not taken a new action on your case.


            Do you want to receive case inactivity notifications?

            Yes

            No
