        • How to get updates from myaccount.uscis

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I'm an August filer and was reading through this thread to keep busy while waiting, and waiting, and ...
I already did my biometrics and have received my EAD!

On this thread I read about keeping up-to-date on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/ AND https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ as sometimes one is updated before the other.
The first one is easy to use, but after registering at myaccount.uscis I get stuck.

I assumed I had to go here: "Register Case by PIN
Your Control Number and PIN are both required to register a case to your account. Both can be found on your USCIS Acknowledgement Letter sent via mail."
But, where can I find my Control Number and PIN? What is an USCIS Acknowledgment Letter? All I've received by mail are I-797 Notice of Action papers. Please help!
          Employment-based AOS (I-140, I-485, I-131, I-765)
          08-24-18: Case was Received
          10-10-18: Biometrics appointment
          10-11-18: I-131 and I-765 approved
          10-18-18: Combo Card in hand
          01-31-19: I-140 approved
          05-09-19: Ready for an Interview
          05-13-19: Interview is Scheduled
          06-24-19: Interview
          06-28-19: Received Green Card

Congrats to your EAD!! Did you ask to expedite it or did you just get very lucky with your application? Where are you filing from?

As for the account website I just created an account with my email address and then went to ?add a paper filed case? something like that and then you can see your case by simply using the Receipt Number. Hope this helps!

                Not expedited, just lucky.
I live in Arizona, and did my biometrics in Phoenix. The office the papers were send to is Nebraska.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try using my receipt number.

                      • EAD success

                        Hi all,

This is my first time posting, but this thread has been incredibly helpful to me, so I wanted to share my experience. I got an email notification this morning to say that my EAD card is being produced. As you can see from my timeline in the signature below, I made an expedite request on 10/29. Although I can't be sure, I am pretty confident that the relatively fast turn-around on my case was because of my congressperson's intervention. The caseworker at my Representative's office has been very proactive in calling USCIS every other day.

One question I do have, should anyone be in the know -- the status of my I-765 has changed to 'New card in production,' but my I-131 still says 'Case was received'. Does anyone know if I should still expect to receive a combo EAD/AP card?

                        Good luck, everyone!

P.S. Just a heads-up: when I submitted my expedite request, the agent I spoke to mistyped my email address. The consequence was that, even though USCIS sent me a request for evidence two days after I made the initial expedite request, I didn't know about it until I called up a week later to see if anything had happened. Lesson learned -- if you are expecting something to happen/change with your application and it doesn't come through, it doesn't hurt to give USCIS a call!

Congratulations on our approval! It's hard to say whether you will get the combo card or not. I have read of several folks who filed a request to expedite their I-765 but did not mention the I-131; and ended up getting the EAD without the Advance parole. I.e., they did not get a combo card.

You can call on Monday and ask. It takes the same background checks to approve the I-765 and I-131. It's silly to not approve both. Yet, it happens often.

My recommendation to anyone requesting to expedite their EAD is to place a request for the I-131, as well. Ask the customer service rep to give you a Referral ID for each request. You will only have to provide evidence for the EAD - job offer/financial hardship, etc.

I expedited my EAD and both the I-765 and the I-131 got approved. Wait a business day or two and see if the I-131 updates. Mine changed to approved for both the next day after card was being produced.
