I called USCIS today and was told it?s not unusual that the appointment notice is taking so long... couldn?t give me any reason why some people get it right away and some don?t though...

Good thing: They told me it?s definitely possible to get your EAD before they take your fingerprints, so it doesn?t actually delay the processing of your EAD
      Concurrent filing of I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765

      08/23/18 - PD
      08/28/18 - Fingerprint Fee accepted
      09/26/18 - I-693 Courtesy letter
      10/25/18 - Biometrics Appointment letter
      10/31/18 - Early Bio Walk-in
11/13/18 - Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
      01/23/19 - EAD/AP approved
      01/28/19 - Combo Card Received

Well I spoke to them they said my location is busy that?s why it?s taking them so long but the bad news is they can?t start my process unless am done with the bio. So you?ll never be able to get the ead or combo card unless we?re done with the finger print

          • Green card for my parents

I filed for a green card for my parents in August 2018 and today the case status was changed to case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Does it mean that the case was transferred from NBC to the local office?

No, while it could mean that, it really just means that the case is not missing any initial required evidence. Now, if they are in a jurisdiction served by a fast field office, it is possible that the interview may be scheduled shortly after this last status update OR not.

Same here! I called them and they said especially South CA is very busy and I shouldn?t worry since the waiting time for the interview is up to 24 months right now...
but also that the fingerprints are not necessarily needed to process the EAD

My PD is August 9th, 2018 (similar to your). I rcvd the receipts but no finger print appt notice yet. Im DACA but my EAD expires this week so im a bit anxious for my new EAD. I had to renew my DL and they only let me do it for a 2mos temporary DL.

What is your local office? My case is "ready to be scheduled for an interview" as well, but the timing is now dependent on your field office's processing time.

nope I still haven't recieved anything. Just had a safe delivery of our baby girl and have been sleep deprived lol. now I'm back to stalking the USCIS forums. Least it's not just our case crawling along. they may have just hit an unpleasant slow crawl in processing. ugh this sucks big time. but in due time. keeping everyone in my prayers. we will get something soon.

                              • Reading this thread made me feel so much better! Looks like it's taking awhile for some people to get a biometric appointment. I received my receipt notices 09/06 that my fingerprint fee was received on 08/24, but I have yet to receive a biometrics appointment. I'm applying out of Southern California.
I only got antsy since my sister submitted an AOS for my mom two weeks after I sent mine in and my mom received both receipt notices and her biometric appointment at the same time. She already has her appointment set for 10/09.
I guess I'll wait it out another week since my lawyer hasn't received anything as well. It's anxiety inducing to keep thinking that maybe it got lost in the mail and I'll miss it and... blah, blah, blah
I'm signing up for Informed Delivery. lol
