  • Second thought after interview

Hey guys, I have something that is bothering me. Good news is I had my case approved for conditional GC.

Couple of years a ago I dated a woman who at the time got pregnant but we weren't married and wasn't sure if baby was mine. I wasn't even there when the baby was born and baby doesn't have my name either. Long story short, I wanted to do DNA test before acccepting responsibility for the baby (if baby is mine), but haven't done that. Before I met my wife who applied for me, I had seen the kid and promised to pay child support and signed papers. But I didn't disclose this at my interview. I wanted to do testing before listing the baby as mine. I'm thinking how this could impact my removal of condition, when I do so. I plan to list the kid as mine when I file (if kid is mine), at which time I would have done testing.

At the time of interview, I answered no, that I don't have any child anywhere in the world.

Please what advice do you guys have?

    Thanks!

I agree. This is well beyond the scope of this forum.

          ...
At the time of your interview as per your knowledge, not as per your guessing, you didn't have any children. If the results of DNA will show that the kiddo is yours and you will do all required documentation to take all legal responsibility for a child, at that time you will have a child.

You can represent the DNA test with the date (after the interview) and other legal documents for a child for your removal of condition. Nothing wrong, life happens!

Hands up for helping a mom to raise a child even you are not sure it yours!!!

            Thanks, @Houston2016!

That was exactly my thought, but it was nice to get a second opinion.
