I've kind of been lurking in the forum reading other people cases and finding similarity with our to keep me sane. It's kind of hard, and since I'm a worry worth... I always come up with negative scenerio in my head.
Just a little bit of background with us. My husband and I met in college and started dating in 2010... life happened, so it didn't work out, but we started dating again in early 2014. Moved in together in 2015. Get married last year in February 2017. He moved to Louisiana right after we married due to his job relocation. We filed I-485 and I-130 together in July 2017. Below is kind of our timeline:
July 5, 2017 - Filed I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765
August 3, 2017 - Biometrics
August 14, 2017 - Ready for interview
November 22, 2017 - Received EAD/AP Card
March 20, 2018 - Filed change of address from New Orleans to Kansas City
August 4, 2018 - Filed renewal I-131/I-765
August 14, 2018 - Received interview notification
August 21, 2018 - Received interview letter in old address to interview at New Orleans
August 24, 2018 - Received biometric for I-765 renewal
August 27, 2018 - Called USCIS in New Orleans to make sure we can go to the interview since we submitted change of address back in March 2018. They put in a ticket, but recommend not going to the interview because the case is already transferred.
I live in Missouri, and my husband live in Louisiana. I've already booked the flight to New Orleans for the interview, so even if there's no interview, I'll still go there. I've already make changes to my flight once already due to prior commitment and too costly to change it again.
My husband is still working in Louisiana, so it's not difficult for us to go the interview. We changed the address in March since we bought a house in Kansas City, and we aren't sure how long he'll be working in Louisiana. Since he's coming home every other weekend, so it made sense to put Kansas City as a permanent address to receive mail.
And now, I'm kind of regretting changing the address. I know it's not within my control anymore, but I'm not sure what to do. I hope the case doesn't get into a black hole or something. Any suggestion would be nice...
