  • Any Portland,OR Filers?

    Hi,

Anybody knows what is the situation in Portland office?

Me and my husband (USC) filed my green card documents in March, my case was just updated last week (08/23/2018) saying 'Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview' and still waiting for any update.

    August 2018 AOS

August 24 2018- receipt of case received
Oct 26 2018- notice for Biometric
    Nov 14 2018- biometrics done
Nov 15 2018- USCIS case status online says "case ready to be scheduled for an interview"

I feel like there are steps missing. Did you get any other update after your biometrics?

You skipped fingerprint review completed step. This is not an issue, they are simply inconsistent in updating this status.
Sometimes they update it, sometimes they dont. I never got this update and my green card is approved, so you dont have to worry about it.

Portland has processing time of 12 to 23 months for family based applications for the I485. This means 50% of applications are approved after 12 months and 93% of cases are approved after 23 months. If your case goes past 23 months you can open a service request to expedite the case.

EAD is process in the service centers and if you are in NBC (case starts with MSC...) then the processing time is between 4 and 6 months. If you have reason to expedite it can go faster.
