So I've been reading stories like this for a while now and I think if you want to keep your money, don't use this bank. I've been seeing a lot of users on here opting to opening bank accounts with this bank because they don't need SSN, well now they will need that and if you somehow were able to open a bank account with them, expect the letter in the mail threatening to free your account.

yeah BOA has been making a lot of weird changes recently, I personally stay away from big banks and go with smaller ones, but unfortunately for those without a ssn, their best bet are the big banks who are more likely to issue an account without one. so I'd check out JPM chase or maybe even capital one.Last edited by krypton9591; 08-31-2018, 03:23 PM.This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. I remember someone said BofA is the easiest in our area for international folks with no credit history. That said about 6 months to a year later I was sent paperwork for full SSN information. As well they remind to do FBAR etc...all that fun stuff you need to do when living in the USA.
Not sure how this guy after 7 years did not have a SSN and credit history or did not bother to make sure his credit history is fine. SSN is so important to be able to function in the USA.
All that said, I have moved to Chase from BofA for a while now. Much better customer service I would say, they also did the proper SSN checks when we first opened the accounts.

This actually what was supposed to be happening from the get go. The Banks were just late to enforce it. I forget the name of the case where the banks were sued by the Fed to adhere to certain rules such as having SSN's on file. The thought behind this is to minimize the ability for terrorist groups to have access to US banks and to have oversight where and how money travels.Marriage based AOS concurre

Years ago undocumented immigrants were able to do certain things but ever since 9/11 things are not as easy.Filed I-130, I130A, I-485, I-765
