  • egov.uscis.gov VS my.uscis.gov

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two case status sites (egov.uscis.gov and my.uscis.gov)?

I originally only knew about egov when I applied for Marriage AOS last year. It's been pretty quiet about status updates since I received my EAD last year.

Earlier this year I stumbled on the my.uscis.gov (accessed through myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov) site and set up my paperwork in there for status updates. I was surprised to see that the I-485 had additional information. At the time the latest update on my.uscis.gov was for 5 September 2017 and was along the lines of "We are ready to schedule your interview".

I just logged on last night to check things out and noticed that 5 Septermber 2017 update had disappeard and now showed an update back dated to 15 March 2018. This time the update has different wording saying "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview".

Any thoughts on why one site shows more detail?
Also, any ideas why the 5 September update has disappeard and now shows 15 March with a message that seems to be similar but is worded differently?

I filed in July 2017 and responded to an RFE late August 2017 - it's been just over a year now so I'm hoping this is a good sign! My EAD expires October 5th (I applied for renewal mid-June) and my wife and I are really relying on my income at the moment. Really hoping to get some security from having the Green Card in hand.
    Original PD: 07/10/2017
    RFE PD: 8/23/2017

    8/03/2017 - RFE Received
    8/23/2017 - Response to RFE
    10/12/2017 - EAD Mailed
3/15/2018 - I-485 Status "Case is ready to be scheduled"
    9/25/2018 - I-485 "Interview Was Scheduled"
    10/31/2018 - Interview Date
10/31/2018 - I-485 Approved on the spot, card has been ordered

We have basically same timeline..Am in Houston thus my field office is Houston. I submitted my application July 2017 and in August 8 I got an RFE and I responded to the RFE August 18 since then nothing changed on the egov website. Last month I signed up for the DHS website and it was saying for my i485 We are ready to schedule your interview as of December and then last week it changed to the March 15 update. I don?t really care about the egov website as long as we get updates on the DHS website that?s what matters.
What I feel and think is 2019 so many of us that filed 2017 will be given a date for interview and approved too. Am tired of seeing all these applicants of 2018 getting their green card within 6 months. As long as am able to work it takes my mind off thinking about the green card. I miss my parents and siblings back home I?ve not been home for over four years. I did not apply for the advance parole cause I deemed it not necessary if I could wait all these years while not wait a year or two to get my green card.
    May God help us.

My priority date is August 17,2017.
I wonder what is the difference between those update.

Me too. Many 2018 Applicants get their case done really fast. I don?t understand why they do that to us. Is it because of different office?s processing time?
        Dear God, please help us!

That?s also the difference in my 2 accounts. The PDs don?t match, one got updated and one basically only reads ?case was received? for everything

I noticed the same. I filled my AOS on August 30th 2017 and initially it said 'Ready to be scheduled for an interview' on Oct 12th 2017 on DHS website but now it says the same 'Ready to be scheduled for an interview' but update date is March 14th 2018 and the description is a bit different.
            PD: 08/30/2017

11/14/2017, I-765 status was changed to "New card is being produced".
11/16/2017, I-765 status was changed to "Card was Mailed To Me".
11/18/2017, Approval notices were received in mail for I-765 and 1-131. they would be valid for one year.
            11/20/2017, Combo card was delivered.
            09/06/2018, EAD renewal was received.
            09/17/2018, Fingerprint Review was completed.
            11/19/2018, Interview was scheduled.

You folks taking random touches on your case online a bit too seriously. There is a lot of things that happen sometimes from "Ready to schedule interview" to "Interview is scheduled".

Your best bet is to do an SR online, and choose "did not receive notice by mail?" and see what response you get. First if you get a response from your local field office address you know that your i485 has been chosen from NBC and it is being transferred over time. The transfer process takes anywhere from 2-4 months depending on how the field office books interviews. If the response comes from NBC then your case is still in a long list waiting for the local field office to do their next round of choosing.

Some field offices are a lot faster than others. You can do this SR every 30days. The data online will explain how fast your field office is.

Once the case is basically totally transfered to the field office they will book your interview in 30-45 days and then you get the actual status update online. Also the status update is officially created the day the actual interview letter is printed.

As for PDs...one site uses the actual received date, one site uses the NOA1 date...2 diff groups of government who start their processes at different times.

Cali2018 - thanks for explaining. It's hard to not wonder about some of these things when its been taking so long. Particularly when you see a bunch of people applying in 2018 getting scheduled already but you're still waiting a year later. I think part of this wondering stems from the "black box" nature of the whole processes. You send you papers in and then almost have no idea what is going on from there.

Anyways, thanks for the advice and explanation.

Totally, understand I have called many times, had many infopass etc...Because many times they gave me false info that interview letter was sent. In 2018 all processes changed to focus on i485, and even though its first come, first serve. The infopass officers have many times said there is some "luck of the draw" when they choose from the "ready to schedule interview" cases.

That said more SRs, and questions you ask following up past SRs the more lucky your case will not be forgotten in some file cabinet.

both are garbage status trackers. I have both and just got my green card in hand . The gov dhs tracker says still need to review after interview was complete but it does show approval for i-130 whereas the status tracker on uscis is showing case received but for my green card status it shows card mailed to you . so i would always go with both and whatever tracker has the higher status so to say is correct. if one says case ready to be scheduled and the other says case received then trust the one with ready to schedule . to make sure infopass will have access to the right status so in doubt do infopass
