  • How long is the wait between receipt of courtesy letter for i693 and Interview?

Hi - I noticed that usually people receive the interview scheduled notice not long after they receive the courtesy letter for i693, is that true? How long do people usually wait? I just got my letter, and below is my timeline. I wonder if I should got get my medical right now, but if I have longer to wait, then maybe I should hold off on that...?

Take a look at the March 2018 filers thread and read folks? signatures. You?ll quickly notice the times are SUPER variable because each field office has a different speed. I am personally waiting until I get my ?your interview has been scheduled? notice with date before I do my medical exam, to ensure it doesn?t expire. The only variable is if a local authorized doctor is not available in those four weeks leading up to your interview, but I would imagine in most larger cities the chance of that happening is very hard.
DC Field office filing of marriage based AOS. Timeline:

    03/09/18 - I-485 & I-130 accepted (PD)
    04/06/18 - I-765 accepted (PD)
    04/06/18 - Biometrics appointment
    04/17/18 - Biometrics Review Completed
07/03/18 - EAD expedite request submitted
07/09/18 - Pink courtesy notice for I-693 medical
07/10/18 - Case is ready to be scheduled for interview
07/26/18 - Inquiry into EAD expedite, no update
08/01/18 - EAD has been mailed
    08/27/18 - Interview scheduled e-notification

Thank you for your reply! I just got the update online this morning that my interview is scheduled! I'm going to schedule my medical as soon as possible, fingers crossed that I can get it in the next week or so, in time for the interview.

I would wait until your interview is scheduled. The wait really depends on the office. It was relatively fast in my case (see timeline)

          November 6, 2017: Biometrics appointment
          July 31, 2018: i693 courtesy letter
August 8, 2018: EAD card in production
August 15, 2018: case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
August 16, 2018: EAD in hand
August 28, 2018: interview is scheduled
          October 12, 2018: interview date
