  • Green Card Status

Hello everyone. I know we are all waiting patiently but I am a bit confused. I see people getting approved for their GC that just filed recently, and that is awesome. I am wondering why mine is taking so long.

    Here is my timeline:

201 B INA Parent of USC

    2-12-18 Rec I-485, I-130 NBC office
    3-14-18 Biometics appt. Phoenix Office
7-30-18 Rec RFE (Taxes) NBC office
8-9-18 Rec response to RFE NBC office.
8-16-18 notified that my EAD card was being printed.
8-20-18 rec my SS card and EAD

As of 8-9-18 I have not had a status update for my Green Card.

I'm living in Phoenix, AZ and would like to return back to Mexico to visit my mother. I tried to go to a Congressman to see if they could help me expedite my case but all they wanted me to do is fill out the I-131 Advanced Parole form and pay the $500 + fee.

Some people say I will get an interview and other say they will just send my card.

I know with the new Administration a lot of things have changed. I just want to know what will happen to my case next. Anyone else in my situation?

you should have applied for advanced parole when you applied for EAD, they're both free when you're adjusting status, and in your category the process takes a long while. would recommend paying the fee and applying for Advanced parole now
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Advance Parole and EAD both fees are included into I-485 fee.

If you have paid I-485 fee you DO NOT need to pay I-131 fee.
Just file I-131 with all required documents listed in instruction for it with the copy of you I-797C that USCIS received your I-485 and another I-797C about your fingerprints appointment and Stam on it with the date they were taken, that way you don't need to pay $500
