  • I need some help ASAP!!

    Hi

My child and I moved to the US 3 years ago. I am a LPR thru marriage but at that time I did not file for my son at the same time because of low funds. However, I filed for him this past May. I did not apply for advanced parole but I want to do so now because we really want to visit home this Christmas.

My question is wanting to visit our familiesis enough to be even considered for advance parole?

Yes, for AP you can put something like "Family visits and pleasure".

However, you should not delay in applying. There are fewer than 4 months left until Christmas and it may take that long to approve the AP.

    Good luck!

You are not asked to provide any reason to apply for Advance Parole as an AOS applicant.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

And, specifically, Page 9 of the instructions for I-131 (under General Requirements) states, in bold, "You must complete Part 4. of the form indicating how your intended travel fits within 1 of the 3
        purposes below."

Now personally I have not heard about people getting rejected for simply putting "family visit" and not submitting documentation, I don't think USCIS has a history of caring, but you are asked to provide a reason.
You should not get to Part 4. The I-131 form says for non-DACA Advance Parole applicants to skip from the middle of Part 3 to Part 7. You are reading the instructions for DACA AP applicants.

Deleted my comment bc I misread.

WELL, then I can only say that USCIS does not care if you put down a reason or not. We put down 'Family visit and pleasure', even though we apparently did not have to
