  • How to get to a real person on the USCIS Customer Service number?

    Hi,

This is a silly question, but I'm wondering if anybody knows how to get to a real person on the USCIS customer service number (800) 375-5283?
I recently got the "interview is scheduled" update online, and I'd like to find out the exact date, since we'll be traveling soon, and might miss the actual letter. I just don't want to miss the interview date when we are traveling.
I tried the customer service number, but did not hear an option to talk to an actual representative, so just wondering if anybody else knows more about it?

    Thank you!!

Call the number then press 1 then 1 then 2. After hitting 2 you will need to put in your receipt number. Then they will transfer you to tier 1 representative. Hope this help.

      Thank you! That worked!
They weren't able to give me the date, since they said it's scheduled at the local field office, I would have to schedule an infopass...maybe I'll just wait patiently for the letter to come

Actually, Tier 2 officers, if I?m not mistaken, can access that info for you. Mayne you can ask them nicely and just tell them
that you don?t want to miss your interview date.
        Goodluck!

yea that has changed after 3 years. when you call say and they ask you what you want, "i want to schedule an appointment", then when they ask what kind of appointment say "infopass"
