There is a good chance that your interview will take place BEFORE your 2nd anniversary of marriage. However, the interview date does not matter. What matters is WHEN your case is adjudicated. In other words, if your interview takes place on 10-22-18, but your case is approved on 10-25-18 or later, then you would get the 10 year green card.

Here's what I would do. I would bring a mountain of evidence to put the officer at ease. They have to justify their decisions. So cover the officer's back by crafting a solid Table of Contents that outlines what each piece of evidence is proof of. Then, the second the immigration officer compliments you on how well organized your evidence is, mention that your 2nd year anniversary is on the 25th, and that you were hoping that your case would be adjudicated after that. People who prepare well ALWAYS get a yes from the officer. Typically you'll hear. "Oh, I am sure that I can *lose* your file on my cluttered desk for a week or two". In other instances, the officer has stopped the interview, and asked the couple to return at a later date.

Do NOT attempt to reschedule the interview. You do not want USCIS thinking you are avoiding the interview to try to secure the 10 year card. Truth is that you still have to submit evidence of bona fide marriage. If anything, more evidence is expected because you have been married for almost 2 years. Look at Emerald 2020. They had been married for 1 year and 4 months when she put together that Table of Contents. My husband and I had been married for 8 months when we put together ours.

I would suggest focusing on showing the longevity of your relationship. You want to make sure you show evidence since the day you met - if you can. If you filed right after getting married, you do not want USCIS to think you met on Monday, got married on Tuesday and filed on Wednesday.

PS: I would definitely recommend getting an advance health care directive and a financial living will/power of attorney.

You're so welcome! I am glad to hear that was helpful. I would start by creating a timeline of your relationship, and staging your evidence around it. During the interview, you can hand the timeline to the ISO, and they can follow along when you're telling how you met etc.

LOL, fantastic!!! 10-year green card ALL THE WAY! I am very happy for you both. Still, you must prepare. Make it easy for the ISO to approve you on the spot. This is the last time the get to screen you before they grant you the right to be in the US forever. While some ISOs roll out the red carpet, some don't. Just show respect for their job and the process, and over-prepare. That's my best advice,
