I have account with: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do but it still shows "case has been received" and nothing else.

How do I know when they start processing applications filed in April?
Also I keep reading in this forum about people who filed say May getting their EAD mailed to them. Please do you have any idea why this is so?

    Thanks

That was helpful. Thank you so much.

Thank you. It is beyond frustrating. I hope you get yours approved as well. Please keep in touch. I have a courtesy letter to bring my I-693 to the interview. Do you have any update at all on any of the cases?
No updates on my I765 or I130. It's been at "case received" since April. My updates on my I485 are in my signature below.

Thanks, that sounds promising. I don't really expect an interview date till late spring or early summer of next year.

I hear you. I had to resign from my job because my L1 visa expired and my EAD wasn't ready yet. Luckily, they have committed to keeping my position open for as long as possible, but it's now just waiting it out.

I've learnt that the immigration process is exceptionally exhausting from an emotional point of view. I was stressing myself out and checking the sites for updates every hour. It was impacting my relationship with my wife. But, I decided that it can't continue. It's unfortunately a process that we have to go through, and it's luckily temporary. But it's the reality of life at this moment of time.

So, I've limited myself to checking the sites for updates only once a day (I keep it for a time in the day when I'm feeling particularly luckily :P). As helpful as this forum is, I stopped constantly reading it and getting stressed out by the news of others getting their EAD. I'm treating my absence from work as mini-retirement and doing the odd jobs around the home that you never get around to - fixing the cabinet door that's always skew, repotting the indoor plant, cleaning out the guest room closet that is filled with random crap. I've started reading again and am two books down. I go for a walk every afternoon around the block. ANYTHING to get my mind out of the dark hole that is waiting for USCIS.

I was watching an episode of Orange Is the New Black yesterday and they were talking about how the prisoners need to give themselves tasks or quests to give their life purpose and keep them sane. I fully believe that the same thing applies to AOS!!!

It is so comforting to know that I am not alone. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am encouraged. I will find more hobbies to engage in that would not break my bank.
Thank you once again. I cannot wait for this phase to end so we can tell our story.

Let us know when you get to the episode where Piper shares her "eat the frog" book to beat procrastination. The frog is the one task you are dreading. Eat the frog first thing in the morning, and that will make your days easier every day.

I thought that was great advice.

Learn Spanish, become a master typist. My uber smart engineer husband is now learning how to type. He had his own way of using 2 to 3 fingers in each hand and mostly his left hand. He is left handed. Well, as of yesterday, he is learning how to type with Mavis Beacon. He starts his new job on Monday, and the goal is for him to be able to use my keyboard by then.

Love it! It's all about setting the goals to beat the boredom. Hopefully he'll be able to master the keyboard by then!

Case Ready to be scheduled for an Interview

              Hello everyone,
I received an update from egov.uscis.gov today at day 162 by exactly 10pm saying my I-485 is ready to be scheduled for an interview. I am so excited after so many days of news drought and near depression.
I am so grateful for the solidarity, words of advice and encouragement I got from you guys. I will still keep you all updated like I promised.
I hope we pass this stage of our lives and be able to look back and smile at it all.

Haha, that's awesome! JINX! What a coincidence!

Yeah, he's getting better and humbly doing all the exercises. So hopefully, by Monday, he will be able to type at a decent speed without having to look at the keyboard. I'll tell ya. That blank keyboard removes any reward or gratification you may get from looking at the keyboard. I quickly stopped looking at it. It's also mechanical. So you can hear the click clac click clak. Got it at https://www.daskeyboard.com/

Congrats on the "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" status update. So now you know that no required initial evidence was missing. You should get the
I-693 courtesy letter next. Hang in there!

Remember to focus on your loved ones and let the wheels turn on their own, while keeping an eye on it - of course.

I called USCIS and spoke with a customer representative. I read somewhere that you can get the exact date of the interview by calling them. Well it turns out they are yet to even schedule an interview 6 days after the update.
This is one of the most frustrating experience I have ever encountered and I pray for more patience.

The status update "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" means that your case has been reviewed for completeness. No initial required evidence is missing, and it is interview-ready, interview-able. You could be at that stage for a few days, weeks, months and some people have reported waiting up to 2 years for an interview.

How fast your interview is scheduled depends upon your field office. The Tampa, FL Field Office, for instance, is very fast. Someone just reported in the AOS experience page that the interview took place 88 days after filing for AOS.

                        Hang in there.

I am filed at Chicago NBC. I just hope even if they want to take years, let them at least approve my EAD. It does no one any good for me to feel totally useless and unable to do anything all these months. I am just ranting though.
Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate.

We are so similar. I filed my EAD on April 18th to Chicago lock box as well.
A big CONGRATULATIONS on the approval. I can imagine how relieving it is! I really hope to see an update soon.
