About I797 reject notice

We received rejection notice for our application of permanent resident stating that "The application/petition was filed on an outdated version of this form. Please resubmit your application/petition"

Hope they meant I 130. For I 130 they gave another rejection notice:"Your I 130 because being returned to you because the eligibility you filed under requires that you file an I 485 also. Please resubmit both forms.

For I 130, I submitted the same version: OMB No: 1615-0012 Expires:07/31/2018 published on 02/27/17. However they accepted my father in laws but rejected my mother in laws. And I have no other option but to resubmit same version because that is the latest version available.

Can anyone recommend what I do?

After calling USCIS found out that it is rejected because of the revised date i.e. at the bottom of 485 application. Sending again

Yes, what matters is the edition date. Go figure. You would think that they would point that out.
That's why we signed up for alerts to get notifications when forms are updated.
