I received my SS card tonight . My husband called me while I was at work and told me that he saw something in the mailbox from Social Security Administrative. Came home and opened mail. Card says ?Valid for Work only with DHS authorization?

I haven?t received my EAD card as yet , can I officially use my SS to work?

I still haven't received my SSN. Called Social Security Office - they have no information in the system that my SSN was re-issued (as requested on I-765) with my married name. Went to SSOffice to apply for re-issuance, but didn't have certified copy of marriage license, so have to go again next week... Without it I can't go for drivers license test, or change info on our joint bank account. So many issues, but at least I finally have a job and I'm really enjoying it

I woke up and saw a text message and online update that my EAD card was mailed. No link with tracking just yet. I will wait to get it Monday or Tuesday.

The next update should be "USPS picked up your card" and should contain your tracking number.

Yes, I got my SSN in 2008 when I was here for a year long internship. In my work I told them all about it, that I'm still waiting for my updated SSN with my married name. When I called SS Office, they told me my number will be the same and I read somewhere that employers have some ways to reach out to SSOffice to find out if that SSN is active and eligible for work.

Good GOD FINALLY!!! You should have it before then. We got it two days earlier than the estimated delivery date.

4/4/2018 my i-485 received by uscis

10/20/2018 rfe sent to me from USCIS "which was a birth certificate"

11/14/2018 rfe response delived by USPS ( birth certificate and new G-28 for my new lawyer)
11/15/2018 status update"response for uscis's rfe was received "

11/19/2018 status update " NAME was updated" which i thought was for my new attorney because my name and parents names are the same on both certificate and I-485 form

11/23/2018 I called a customer service to ask about " name updated status" she said that was update on 11/19 but she said since 11/20 she saw that my case was under review status " , but on my uscis account still show " name updated "

Does anybody know how long it takes to get approval since your case is under review after rfe response ?

My card will probably get to Brooklyn tonight and and be on my local delivery man truck tomorrow .
If I have to wait until Friday so be it .

You know, you are right. I called at 8:30am Central time and got this lovely level 1 -older lady- who then set me up for a call back. Then, I got Officer Rose, who could not have been more knowledgeable. It was refreshing because my experience had been poor until today.
