And what USPS say? Picked up today around 2 hours ago? I received the status change around 3 hours after the actual pick up time.

Picked up 4 hours ago! I guess I need to be more patient ont the future, but the whole process is so stressful, specially when you have deadlines!!

There's still a few of us. PD here is 9/27/18 and nothing yet. I think there's a 9/14, 9/20, and 9/28 in these forums with nothing yet. Although I'm glad the ball is moving for some, it's still frustrating to see October, November and December filers are already receiving their EAD. I don't know if you can accurately gauge those USCIS guys. You might get your the message your card is approved next week, or you might get it after your i485 interview. Hahaha!

Agreed. Well I filed from NY so odds that I get my interview before EAD are close to none unfortunately!

I've started to research on why it takes so long to get EAD. USCIS case numbers are pretty easy to figure out. I saw some people after me, PD 10/29/18 received their EADs as early as February(!).
So it all depends on when they start to review your I485. They won't take any action on your i765 until your I485 is basically ready to be scheduled for in interview. They have to make sure your I765 is backed up by the benefit you applied for. I think it is mainly have to do with the future EAD revoke process for H4 adjustment applicants. So the people, whos I485 were reviewed early on, after 1-2 months after the application was received, got their EADs earlier than others.
I didn't see any action on my I485 until February 27 and that's 4 months already!!!
So they give you a wide estimate of 6.5 moths for i765, so you can't basically even complain, because "it is within the normal processing times".

Yes, this is the process. I don't know anyone's case numbers except my wife's. It doesn't explain why they would process a December application before a September application. That's the frustrating part. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the later filers, just frustrated with USCIS. I am a US citizen and already quite skeptical with the government here to begin with. Haha! Good luck to you.

This is very interesting and helpful to know. Thank you very much for providing the insight. Any idea how long it'll take from i485 ready to schedule interview to EAD approved?
