no. just says new card is being produced at this point. nothing new. i spoke to our lawyer and she said the card is a dual card since both form i-131 and i-765 were filed together and mentioned that it must have been a mistake for me not to receive an update on the form i-131 as well. i hope shes right.

    • EAD on hold

      Hi everyone,

I spoke to a Tier 2 officer today and I got a really weird response. I was wondering if anyone has gone through the same situation?

      - On Feb 15th, our green card interview was scheduled
      - The officer was really nice and told me that my EAD application was put on hold on Feb 2nd, she doesn't know why but said that it might be because that was the date they sent my i-693 medial courtesy letter, so maybe they stopped processing the EAD after that was sent. I thought that not submitting the I-693 medical didn't have anything to do with the EAD? I was just gonna bring it to the interview.
      - The officer also said that it may be because my green card interview has been scheduled already, and since I tried to expedite my green card (but, our interview got scheduled before I got a chance to send in my proof of expedite), the person working on my EAD just stopped working on it.

I'm a little confused... obviously I am happy that our interview has been scheduled, but has anyone been told that their EAD application has been put on hold? I never got any RFEs (I guess apart from the medical but I really didn't think I had to send that in with my application). I have seen some people get their EAD a week before their interview, like it's a parallel process. I would just like to get the EAD a little sooner if possible as I have a job offer waiting for me

I appreciate any insights you have in advance!

My PD is Sept 18. Thanks everyone.

I think there is a lot of people working on cases and they do different things, that's why we get different results/timelines. Yes, I've seen people get EAD a week or two before interview, but also see people not getting EAD at all and they go to interview and soon after get the GC. Maybe your case falls on the later. I don't think there is anything you can do to get EAD, if they are not going to send it. Good luck on your interview and hope you get approved on the spot.

        • Just noticed this update in my case.

"On February 25, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number WKD **** **** MSC, was completed."
"On February 25, 2019, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number WKD **** **** MSC."
"On February 25, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number WKD **** ***MSC, was assigned to an officer for response."

Hopefully its a good sign and that means they will send me EAD card, they did not ask for supporting documents.
If they ask do they send a letter or email? they did not take my email address when I requested the expedite

            • So we received an update yesterday that a new card was being produced for I-765...I think we are a little confused because the interview is March 11th and my husband wont even get to use the EAD card. I just think it's silly all this time we prayed for it to come and now it gets approved like 3 weeks before the interview. Once we have the interview and he gets the green card the EAD is void correct?

2-4 Case tracker updated to interview was scheduled

Yes, when you get the GC then the EAD is no longer valid. From what I read, you can go to SS office to remove the SS card restriction "valid only with DHS authorization", because that restriction is for people "lawfully admitted to the United States on a temporary basis".

Yes is silly, I think some officers see that and stop the EAD to be approved, others don't. I see some people getting EAD a few weeks before interview and others, not at all.

I had the same thing happen (on February 15, 2019 your request to have your case expedited was completed etc.), and then three days later I submitted my proof. I have had no updates since. They took my email when I submitted the request though, and sent an email asking for proof (after I got the update saying my expedite was completed). I think it would be highly unlikely that they accept your expedite without proof. You could call them and ask where to send the proof, hopefully you should get an email asking for it, with a number to fax it to.

The problem that the officer who did the request for me did not ask for an email. Could you please include the content of the email they sent to you?

                      • Today I received a letter from USCIS regarding my expedite request, they are asking for proof and they want me to fax to them with the letter I received.
They letter has fax number and then Attn: LA 0511 with other numbers in there. I will fax it to them today and will see how it goes.

I will only fax the letter from company, do you think I should send something else?

The letter is a job offer? I think it'd be enough (that's what my congressman's associate told me when I went to see them ... too bad I don't have a job offer yet to use.)

I know some people added a cover letter as well. However, in my opinion given that your PD is basically current now (date for case inquiry is 9/11 today), I don't see why they'd even need anything to expedite ... but that's a different story lol

                          Hope this helps!
