  • Potential mistake in AoS package

So I've mailed out the concurrent filings on Friday, expected delivery today at the Chicago Lockbox. I had time all weekend to be paranoid about potential mistakes/omissions. Finally, this morning I started to doubt whether I put the correct Form G-1450 in the right folder. I clearly remember triple checking the G-1450 itself for the correct amount, correct card number, expiration date, etc. That's not the issue. The issue is that my memory is a blur when I try to remember if I put the G-1450 with the $535 fee in the I-130 packet and the G-1450 with $1225 in the I-485. Needless to say, I'm freaking out thinking I will lose about 30 days if it gets rejected and sent back.

Hence, since I'm sure the G-1450s are there with the correct amounts but COULD be swapped between folders, is it possible that the officer will just swap them in the right place and move forward? Or will this misplacement result in rejection? Thanks!!

Side note: the package is still not delivered so I could request an intercept from USPS and have the package returned to me.
RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX
10/24/2021 - USPS delivered the package in AZ
10/27/2021 - Text from USCIS with receipt number, check cashed. Assigned to the Texas Processing Center

INITIAL AOS from F-1, married to USC, filed in Seattle WA

09/24/2018 - Package delivered to PO Box (PD)
    10/22 - Early bio walk-in
11/15 - New card is being produced (I-765)
    11/26 - EAD combo & SS card
    01/13/2020 - Interview

There is a lot of sensitive information in that package. I would allow it to get to its destination and be processed. If you intercept the package, you're opening the door to handling errors or worse - your package getting lost in a never ending loop.

To anyone reading this - Use Fedex or UPS. You don't have to choose the most expensive option. Send it Fedex ground if you have to, but avoid USPS.

From what I've heard (there's an interview with a former USCIS officer floating about on some other web site), the first step on receiving an application pack is that the payment is removed from the package and the package put in a file in a standardized way. So even if you swapped the payments I would guess that it doesn't matter. If it was me, I'd (hopefully) just wait it out. OTOH, if you can intercept it the advantage is that you know approximately what the delay will be.
