  • Ead renewal , no receipt

Will ead renewal case be linked to my old original ead case? Or it will have a different number? My lawyer mailed the renewal few weeks ago and the package was delivered on September 12 to Chicago. But we still haven?t received the receipt. I?m getting worried cuz my current ead card will expire on November 1st which means I?ll loose my job

It?s a different case number. You can call USCIS they will give your case number if you don?t have receipt and they will tell you what was going on.

You will not lose your job. As long as you can prove that you filed for renewal, you will be fine. If it comes down to the wire, you can even call USCIS from the Human Resources Office, and have the representative confirm that you filed for renewal.

Did you use the renwal slip that was included with your EAD? That has a barcode which makes the process faster.

      All the best,

My lawyer filed it for me, not sure if they used it or not. They just gave me a tracking number to see when it gets delivered. I?m going to wait until end of this week and if I don?t receive the receipt I?ll call uscis. It just seems so weird to me how long it takes, last time I got the notice very quick, in couple of days
