  • Assistance with photos submission?

Can you share with us how you submit the photos for marriage AOS?

    1) How many photos would you recommend?
    2) Do you print them out in the usual 4x6 prints?
    3) Or, do you create them in a photo book? We don't have a formal professional photo album because we had a casual civil wedding.

We have lots of photos from many occasions including day-to-day activities; ie walking the dogs in the park. Unfortunately, there are not too many photos of both of us because I am usually the one who take the photos of my spouse and our dogs. Will this be a concern at the interview?

Hi! Is this an AoS through marriage?
What we did, we just submitted about 15 (4x6) photos.
Started from 2013 when we first dated, up to our casual civil wedding which was early this year.
So far we haven?t gotten any RFEs. You don?t need to submit a whole album.
I think you want to do that during interview. That?s what I?m planning to do.
    Goodluck!

Our lawyer told us to submit around 20 4x6 photos with the original I-485 application. Importantly, they need to ideally be of holidays or special events, and need to include other family or friends in the photos. She told us that photos of just the two of us have no value, especially if just taken around the house, etc. Also, you should ideally show a range of time from since you started dating until submission, rather than just providing photos from a short time period. Try also get a range of different family and friends.

The only time where photos of just the two of you are acceptable is when it relates to a holiday taken together. For example, if you are submitting documentation around a trip that you took together (flights, hotel bookings, etc), then you should add a photo of just the two of you at that place. As an example. if you took a trip to New York, then you can add a photo of you in front of the Statue of Liberty as evidence. Otherwise, the photos need to include others.

We wrote the date of the photo and place where it was taken on the back of each photo, together with the names of everyone in the photo and their relation to us.

For the interview, you'll need to put together a more detailed and complete album.

I have to agree with Cptfll. Photos carry the least weight. If you are lacking more concrete evidence of bona fide marriage, you can upgrade their value by showing a photo you took during a celebration, an trip, a dinner at a restaurant. You can then tie that photo to:
          - text messages that relate to that event. Example: you were planning an outdoor wedding next weekend. The weather forecast shows 95% heavy rain chance. Hopefully, you communicate that to your guests and set up a plan B inside. You can share emails, text messages, etc.
          - Receipts receipts receipts. I will say it again - receipts are alibis. They're a timestamp that you were there. If you paid with a credit card, then also show the corresponding bank statement and highlight it, and a note tying that payment on the bank statement to the receipt.
          - notarized affidavits from people who know you well and from people who don't know you that well.

You want to either print 2 pictures per page OR you can print them at Walgreens/walmart and then glue 2 on each page.
Again, if you do not have more solid evidence of bona fide marriage - yes, dig up receipts and upgrade your pictorial evidence to a higher level. Otherwise, pictures just aren't very strong evidence.

You will find many ways to get creative on this thread. https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...449#post582449

I didn't go too crazy with the photos because those don't carry any legal importance. In addition to the actual evidence, I included a folder with 5x7 photos printed at Costco. I basically attached around 5 plain white paper pages into the folder and then scotch taped 2 photos per page. Underneath each photo (and on the back of it in case the IO takes it out of the folder), I wrote the date, location, an people in the photo. Ex: John and Mary in Seattle, WA on December 24, 2016.
RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX
10/24/2021 - USPS delivered the package in AZ
10/27/2021 - Text from USCIS with receipt number, check cashed. Assigned to the Texas Processing Center

INITIAL AOS from F-1, married to USC, filed in Seattle WA

09/24/2018 - Package delivered to PO Box (PD)
                10/22 - Early bio walk-in
11/15 - New card is being produced (I-765)
                11/26 - EAD combo & SS card
                01/13/2020 - Interview
01/23/2020 - Case Approved, Card Mailed.

Agree, this is the right way to choose pictures if you have many.

All our pictures are digitals, and most of the ones with family and friends were made and posted on FB by others, so i print screen FB and print them on normal "letter" size paper, saved me time to wright date and time, as FB stamp it with whom and were/when picture was posted.
But for interview i print pictures not from FB (what we didn't posted) and also put them together 2-4 per page with description and date under.
