I've never had a SSN but I was able to open a BofA credit card in 2016 with a $600 limit. I used it responsibly, no high utilization, no balance carried, etc. In August 2018 I applied via phone for an AmEx credit card and they approved me, surprisingly. I gave them my passport number, visa number, stuff like that and they approved me for $1,000 limit. When the credit card came in the mail, I read the paperwork and it says that for said application, AmEx made a pull on my credit and the score was 746! I am not able to see it myself because all bureaus and CreditKarma ask for an SSN to provide the score.
So, does that mean I have a credit score even without an SSN? I changed my name through marriage and I applied for all the AoS paperwork using my married name. When I will receive my SSN, it will be in my married name. Will that mean my existing credit score will be wiped since the names don't match?
