Adjustment of status (F1 student married to US Citizen) -Detailed explanation
I got married in March 2018, My wife and I immediately started working on assembling documents for Adjustment of Status. We consulted a Lawyer and paid 200$ to explain our case and mainly to get a check list of all the documents required for the submission. Believe me guys it does require 2 days of focus and you can get all the documents togethe Just make sure you and your partner know what exactly you need to put together.
This is the timeline for our submission:
1) May 8th - Sent the i-485 packet
2) May 11th- Application was received
3)May 19th- Case was received
4) May 28th- received notice for bio metrics appointment
5)June 9th- Bio metrics completed
6) July 11th- Case has been approved
7) September 20- card is being produced
8) September 27- Card was shipped
9)September 29th - EAD card with Advanced Parole endorsement received.
We had to wait a long time almost 130 days before I got my EAD. I wonder when will the interview get scheduled. Good luck to all of you. It is a very simple process do not spend 3000$-5000$ on hiring a lawyer unless you really need it.
