    The EAD/AP are contingent upon the background check. The bio appointment takes your fingerprints, picture and basically starts the background check with the FBI. The sooner you go in for bio, the sooner your background check will clear, hence putting you in line for the EAD/AP. Barring any RFEs, you will also be put in line for the interview for the I-485. It is not a huge gain, just a few days, but it is still something.

    Biometrics are for I485 , Not for EAD /AP . Oct. filers ( non-MSC ) have started getting EAD/AP before their biometrics appointment is scheduled .

      For those who applied for the I-765 along with the I-485, the bio appointment is for both. The bio appointment letter contains both barcodes for both forms. The EAD can?t be issued before the biometrics.

            Has anyone gotten EAD/AP notices yet who filed in october?
            I filed on oct 1st, fingerprint appointment nov 1, and it's been about 10 days with no further updates online or through the mail.
            Let's all try to stay patient guys!
            9/28/18: Package sent
            10/1/18: Package delivered
            10/15/18: Received receipt notices for I-485, I-131, I-765

            Dates on the receipt notices:
            Received Date: 10/1/18
            Notice date: 10/8/18

            10/19/18: received fingerprint appointment notice
            10/26/18: received I-485J receipt notice in mail
            11/1/18: Fingerprint appointment done

            Current day: Nov 11, 2018 - no further updates or progress in the mail or changes to online status.

              My PD is Oct 1st. Had my biometrics appointment on Oct 31st. I also haven't received any updates. Not sure why it's taking so long. I filed with a lawyer so I was hoping we have submitted all the evidence. So we're on the same boat

                July 2018 people still don?t have any updates on their EAD?s. I filed July 13 with a lawyer and have had no RFE?s and still no EAD update.

                  Biometrics Appt done

                  I went to do my finger prints today at the La Brea, Los Angeles center. The appointment was schedule at 2:00pm. I arrived at 1:30 and there was no one there. I was the only one! It only took 5 min.


                  My timeline below. Category:C9.

                  10/9 package sent
                  10/11 USCIS - National Benefit Center received package/ priority date
                  10/17 Bio Fees accepted (notice from the App) checks were cashed too.
                  10/22 received notices in the mail.
                  11/01 Bio appt schedule notice received in the mail. Scheduled for 11/14
                  11/9 I-693 Courtesy Letter received
                  11/14 Bio Appt completed at the La Brea Los Angeles Office

                        Do they let you know by text or in your case files online, like they do upon accepting the paperwork, that the biometrics appointment letter is on the way? Or do you just receive it in the mail with your date to go in?

                          Hi - no they don't, I believe it's basically sent out the day after the biometrics fee is marked as accepted on your i-485 tracking - see my timeline, I basically received the biometrics a few days after the NoAs.

                              Same here, no updates after biometric was done. The case tracker hasnt made any single change since i got my receipts. It looks like its going to be a long wait
