I tried to do an early walk-in for finger prints today at the La Brea Los Angeles center. The security guard was really nice and told me that I needed to wait for all the appointments to clear first before he could let me check in....I got there at 8 when the office open and I left at 9:15 since there was still a lot of people coming in with appointments. The security guard said that it?s better to do a walk in between 10-12 and 2-4 since that?s when it starts to slow down. I?ll try again tomorrow.

I would just go in as if you had an appointment. That's what we did. They looked at the letter and confirmed the name on the letter matched the name on the passport. Done. No one ever said - you're 6 days early.
Genuine question: I am questioning the importance of walking in early for biometrics? How does it change the outcome since the thing that counts mostly is the Priority Date? Especially now that your appointment is only a few days away?

I just did an early walk in today. Took me 15 mins max. The reason I went in before my scheduled date was because I have work that day and couldn?t ask for a day off since it was such late notice.

The EAD/AP are contingent upon the background check. The bio appointment takes your fingerprints, picture and basically starts the background check with the FBI. The sooner you go in for bio, the sooner your background check will clear, hence putting you in line for the EAD/AP. Barring any RFEs, you will also be put in line for the interview for the I-485. It is not a huge gain, just a few days, but it is still something.

How come they allow you. I went to Alexanderia Virginia office for biometrics three times this week and the supervisor didn?t allow me. He sent me home every time. I showed him document I have appointment for my daughter on the same day I have my biometrics appointment but he told me this is not my problem. He ask me to leave and come on time for my appointment.

Sorry to hear that. I am not sure but probably cause the office wasn't busy at that time and most people usually dont have issues doing a walk-in from what ive read.

Also, is it common to not receive the NOAs for your I-130, I-485 and I-765 at the same time? I received my biometrics appointment notice at the same time as my other two NOAs but not I-485.

I was not able to try to do an early walk-in again. I guess I?ll wait to next week.
Today I received a letter saying that an initial review of evidence submitted with the package determined that the evidence is not sufficient to complete adjudication for the following reason: a completed and signed I-693 was not submitted
It also says that I don?t need to mail it but if I received an interview notice in the mail, to bring it with me at the time of the interview appointment.
Has anyone received this? I thought they would send me a request for me to do the medical exam?

That's the I-693 courtesy letter. They're just letting you know that you did not include your I-693 and that's fine. Just bring it to the interview.

No, at this point, you want to wait until USCIS schedules your interview. The rules of the game just changed. In your case, it's best to just wait until you have a set interview date.
