I might be wrong (all speculation!) but the FBI may need a bit of time to do your background check. It's sometimes even harder for them depending on your country of origin, if many people have the same name than you etc. So that's one thing that may take longer for your status to move forward. Also, I see in your timeline that you went to you bio appointment early = they had even less time than they expected and your status is not going to change until your background check is done, I believe. Last thing, I've seen a lot of people seeing their status change to - whatever it is - like "fingerprints received" or "ready to schedule for interview" in the next 24-48 hours after the biometrics were done, however, it didn't happen to those who got a RFE. Background checks take longer if you have a common name. The timeline is also affected by your country of origin. I did not receive any updates either after the bio but my EAD is being produced as of today. I also have a very common first name and my husband?s last name (which I took) is pretty common too.

Oh I didn't mean it has less time in general, just mean that the background check isn't complete by the time you're done with bio so the status isn't moving forward right away!

That?s amazing! Congrats on having your EAD card produced. Did you also contact your congressman regarding the expedite request?

My PD is October 1st and I requested to have my EAD expedited on November 7th over the phone. USCIS didn?t ask me for any evidence - they just denied the request so I wonder what could have gone wrong?

My reason was medical bills and job request but they didn't take a note of the medical bills as I just found out.

I think it's normal if your application is marriage based. When applying you actually have to prove that your sponsor and/or co-sponsor can take care of you. So if you come back a month later saying that they actually cannot, it doesn't look great. However, if you are employment based, I would think it could work.

There is a few categories of possible expedite requests. Job offer is not a category of its own. I think it belongs to the financial hardship section. But receiving the EAD card early is a priviledge given by USCIS and not something we should take for granted. That’s moral of the story for me
