Brief :
The officer is very welcoming during the interview. We talked about the weather etc. He explained to us the purpose we are required to be interviewed, which is to establish relationship, and to avoid marriage fraud (which I find it very comforting). We then go through the I-130 and I-485 documents together, first ask my husband about his name, job, date of birth. He also asked my husband about me and my birthday. Then ask me about myself, we talked how long it takes to finish grad school etc... and the yes/no question on my I-485. He then proceed to our love story, which my husband explained everything, focusing on the key dates: dating, engagement, wedding date. He asked if we have any additional documents to submit. So we gave him the medical document, (he comment about if I am worried that the medical will expire) most recent tax return and life, auto insurance documents, and letters from friends and family to testify our relationship. He did not even go through the binder we have prepared nor the pictures we printed, and he confirmed that the evidence we have previously submitted, in addition to what we submit on the interview date were sufficient. But I insist to give him two photos from our wedding and he scan them to keep and return the originals. I also told him I have my updated I-20 to submit, and he smile at me and say it does not matter, after today you will not need your I-20.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience, very relaxing and we were not that nervous at all. My opinion: be truthful, and have eye contacts. At one point I have to stop and ask what does that word mean, just be careful and truthful with everything you are about to say.
Please reach out if you have any questions. I would love to share my two cents.
