  • Any CAA applicants? Let's share our experiences.

Hello there. I have been looking to find some CAA applicants like me in this forum or others but not much luck, so I wanted to start a new thread.
We are two, my girlfriend and me, she is also Cuban we have the exact same timeline. We filed form I-785 here in Miami, FL through Church World Services (CWS), an organization that helps immigrants with all this legal stuff. On September we filed EAD renewal (form I-765) with an immigration lawyer.

    This is my timeline.
I have some doubts here. If I check the egov.uscis.gov webpage the PD is 03/29 but if I check my.uscis.gov, now is 04/12. What's happening here? Thank you.

10/02. I-765 fingerprints review was completed (they use previous fingerprints).
09/21. PD I-765 (case received and waived the filing fee).
    09/11. Change of address completed.
05/07. Case ready to be scheduled for an interview.
    05/04. Fingerprints review was completed.
05/02. Fingerprints done (Hialeah FL field office).
03/29. PD (case received and waived the filing fee).
    CAA I485 Miami FL
    3/29/18 PD
    4/12/18 PD according to my.uscis.gov
5/2/18 Fingerprints done Hialeah FL FO
    5/4/18 Fingerprints review was completed
5/7/18 Case ready for an interview
    9/11/18 Change of address completed
    9/21/18 I765 package PD
10/2/18 I765 fingerprints review was completed
12/12/18 Submitted request to expedite I-765
12/21/18 New card being produced (I-765)
    12/31/18 I765 card in hand
1/18/19 Submitted SR case outside normal processing times. Still no answer

I am a CAA as well. Not many around here.
Your timeline just looks confusing, did you file on October 2nd 2017, or March 29th 2018, and/or the dates are not in order?

I will post my timeline soon. I just had my medical exam done today (I sent my application without the I-163).

Good luck!!! I hope you get a positive answer soon!!!

I think I entered the dates wrong, sorry about that hehe. All my dates are from 2018, the PD is 03/29. The person who help us with the I485 application advised us to sent it without the medical exam because of the long waiting. At that time we did not submit the renewal of the I765 either, that is the other PD you saw in my timeline. Well, thanks for your answer, I thought nobody were going to write.

Good luck to you as well!!

          Hello!
Regarding my address my office is Miami too, but I also did fingerprints in Hialeah. I have friends that came with me ( we cross the border), they went to California and Nevada. My friend in California already has her green card, she never was scheduled for an interview; and the one in Las Vegas she is still waiting but she think she will not have an interview either. They both sent their applications with the medical exam.

Every person I know who filed AOS because of CAA had their interviews waived. I hope it is not a long wait, there are not many CAA after January 2017, maybe the ones who were already here, but for whatever reason didn't apply at the 1 year + a day mark, and the ones who are lucky to have a visa and can still come. Some CAA are getting their GC in 3 months, who knows if we get lucky.

            My timeline:
            07/19 Case received
Courtesy I-163 letter (not sure about date)
            08/01 BIO appointment
            08/15 BIO done (Fingerprints)
            08/16 Fingerprints review was completed.
            10/18 RFE ( I-163)

My case doesn't have a PD, nor it has changed to Scheduled for interview..... A lot of my friends, even non CAA, got their GC as soon as they sent the I-163, so I am praying that it is the same for me. My field Office is NOLA and I don't think there are other CAA here, but maybe it is not even based on the number of CAAs.
I had my medical completed yesterday, waiting for the packet from the doctor, hopefully will get it by Monday and will either mail it or walk to the office.
I just cant wait to get my GC, I have anxiety, lol. Will keep you posted.
            Good luck!!!!

I just received the courtesy letter and then nothing else, just waiting for the interview to be scheduled. Thank you for your updates.

Exactly. I did not send my medical because it expires in 1 year ( that will change starting November and it will be 2 years), and I don't have money to waste. Doctors are ruthless, some were asking for $500 even though I have all the vaccines....the cheapest I found was $395.

Maybe your interview will be waived. Did you get here before or after WFDF?

No problem, we should keep each other updated.

                        Las Vegas CAA 10/19/2017

Hey guys, glad to see this thread!

                        Las Vegas filer here.

My wife and I applied together, we have the same timelines (the cases are on the same folder and are consecutive numbered, but we are not married, both CAA applicants).

                        Here is my timeline:

10/19/2017 - Receipt Date for I-485, I-765 (National Benefits Center).
                        11/23/2017 - Fingerprints done.
                        12/16/2017 - I-765 Approved.
12/20/2017 - Received EAD card (expiring in 12/16/2018).
03/15/2018 - Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview.
                        07/16/2018 - Receipt Date for I-765 Renewal.
08/23/2018 - Opened First Service Request on I-485.
10/14/2018 - Called Customer Service to follow up I-485 and SR.
10/15/2018 - Interview Cancelled, SR was completed.
10/16/2018 - Called Customer Service to ask about the interview cancellation (no useful response, no T2 transfer).

Waiting for SR response mail or any state changes.

Wow that's a long wait. Maybe that interview cancellation is because they plan to waive your interview. Fingers cross!

I'm planing to use my Advance parole this week. I'm going to Costa Rica for 2 weeks where i grew up. I'm a little anxious because i overstayed for 6 months with my B1 visa before applying to CAA . Wish me luck.

                              Hello and welcome!
It's nice to see people joining this thread. My wife and me we have also two consecutive receipt numbers, we are not married either but we have a son.
One question: What are service requests good for?
                              Best wishes
