We interviewed at Omaha Field Office. Our appointment was 8:40 am and we got called right on time. No lawyer was involved.
We did the oath then talked with the IO a little bit about Huskers & sports. He asked my husband about form I-130, just basic questions like name, SSN, address, your parents? name. Then the IO asked me Y/N questions. After that, he asked both of us:
- How we met and what are our story?
- our wedding at the courthouse, when was it? was there any family members attended? Was there a reception?
- Asked about my parents and their current location
- Asked to see some photos after the wedding. The IO complimented on how I organized & label the pictures. He asked the details of the photos such as is this the ice cream place in Dundee? Is this 11-Worth cafe?
Then he gave us the paper explaining that this is a conditional PR and instructions of remove that condition in 2 years. We were approved on the spot! He said that because we provided significant bonda fide evidence on our package already and he loves our story on how we met. The IO didn?t see any other supplemental evidence that we brought, except for the pictures. Our IO clearly reviewed our application and evidences before hand, he knew our trips and read some of our correspondence.
After the interview, we even chatted with IO a little bit our his family and kids. Honestly, the interview seemed casual (about 30?) and the IO was very personable. We shook his hands and he took us out. 2 hour later, the online system changed to ?New card is being produced.?
I recommend preparing lots of evidence when submitting the application. We prepared health insurance, phone bill, lease, travel tickets, plane tickets, pictures from trips, pictures that have both of us with friends, cards that were addressed to both of us. We arranged the pictures and trips from oldest to newest, name the location as well. We tried to create a story as much as we can (pre-wedding & after wedding).
The whole process took us 238 days and now we can patiently wait for the GC to come in the mail.
