  • 4 months after interview, no response

We had our marriage based interview early June. Field officer said everything looked good and our case was ?approvable?. Since then crickets...
We did an infopass appointment and they basically said due to volume we had to wait.
Just looking to see if this has happened to anyone else and it turned out positive.
Interview was done in Newark, NJ

Well, there are plenty of people getting approved on the spot at the Newark, NJ field office. So that whole "due to volume you have to wait" is not it. There may be another reason.

I would have your Senator inquire on your behalf. Have your ducks in a row, though. Senator inquiries have triggered ICE visits.

It?s incredibly frustrating! I know of many cases that were approved on the spot.
We?ve been married for 6 years, 2 kids and had plenty of evidence!
The officer said everything looked good, so I just don?t know...
ICE is more than welcome to come by, I?ll offer them coffee and crackers!
I?ll research how to get the senator involved.

Yup, same here. ICE is welcome to come by anytime. We do have video surveillance in our home, so they'd better watch their mouth.

You can find your Senator here. https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact Your marriage has withstood the test of time. So they need to adjudicate your case. They can't just hold it for no reason.
