Joint filing of AOS I-485, EAD I-765, I-130 Affidavit of support and I-131 for travel
203 days since received date and no change on status of the EAD or the travel card
On March 23rd- RFE for original birth certificate from home country issued by the government
On April 23rd- Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview
I have a time sensitive offer. I even went through the expedite process requesting the congressman to check on the status. The expedite was denied. Only got to hear through the secretary of the congressman that the expedite request was denied based on insufficient evidence.
On May 10th, I requested for an expeditious handling again and was asked to submit additional evidence which I did. I haven’t even received the acknowledgement of the receipt of the documents.
This is the third time my offer letter has extended dates for me to start and I have waited 6 months already since the time I had been offered the job.
I am just really worried that I may lose this job as well which is in fact a job that would mean a lot for my career. Please help guys.
    Thanks’ ????

    • After 196 days my case has been updated to: “ case closed benefit received by other means” I don’t understand what that means though. My lawyer is checking to see what it could be. I will keep updating if it changes or something...

Your case really got me intrigued. I even started doing some research about what might generate this status. The only answers I could find are: the beneficiary received a Green Card and no longer needs EAD/AP, or USCIS made an error.
        Keep us updated. Fingers crossed!

            • I’m completely shocked, and I don’t understand how it’s happened so quickly, but my case status has been changed to “Interview has been scheduled.” We got the update yesterday saying that it’s ready to be scheduled, and now it’s been scheduled!

Nevertheless has anyone else heard of field offices scheduling the AOS interview in a different field office? I filed in Des Moines for my husband, and apparently they are so backed up they are scheduling people for their interviews in the Kansas City field office to alleviate some of the backlog. It would be quite a haul for us, but I would totally welcome an interview anywhere if it meant we could have the green card. Foolishly didn't file for Advance Parole and were unable to attend his brother's graduation in Greece.

                              • Hey guys/gals

IT's been 304 days since I filed I-130 and I-485 together. The I-485 case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, and yet my I-130 is still saying Case was Received. Is there any way I can file an outside normal time processing for I-130. If so, which office should I select? I send everything in Chicago. But, when can't find Chicago in the dropdown menu for I-130.

Also, it's been at least 4 months since I-485 hasn't changed anything...what should i do???

                                Thanks in advance,
