  • I-485/Greencard Questions

So, we filed for NIW and also a GC at the same time and after a few months and responding to an RFE, thankfully our application got approved!
I was told by the attorney that the I-485 would still need 1 final interview before the case is approved.

Question is, even though the NIW has been approved, would the GC also be approved? Or are these 2 separate things? if the NIW is approved then what are the chances for the GC to be approved?

    thank you

It's completely different thing. For NIW I-140 application is filled after I-140(NIW) is approved then only your GC that is I-485 application will start to be reviewed. And for that depending on Field Office or Service Center, you can check the processing time at https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
Good luck on your upcoming process.

      Thank you.

so for the I-485, what are the factors that they will use to determine for an approval? I have my EAD and as stated, the NIW is approved.

If you have your EAD then your I-485 is already filed by this time. So you just have to wait for the notices sent from USCIS by opening an account on USCIS websites https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do or https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and get the recent steps going on.
