  • Post I485 interview

I wonder how long does it usually take for the card to be produced post I485 interview? We had the I485 interview 2 weeks back. We are Eb2, current when interviewed. I saw a lot of people got the status update online right away but not in our case even though the officer told us that he would approve our case. We interviewed at the NYC Manhattan office.

    Thanks.

I am caught up in the same situation. My I 485 application was approved. Was told my Green card will be mailed within 3 to 4 weeks and this is the 5th week now, I haven't heard anything. Case hasn't been updated online too. I did mine in Boston. Goodluck though. Keep me posted.

In your case, there was a retrogression when you had your interview, wasn't it? was your case sent back to NBC?

I see... i had Infopass today and officer told me my case is already with the supervisor on 11/9 for review so hopefully I get something soon. She said mostly it takes 120 days to grant approval. I?m at 91 days so I?m thinking latest would be Dec 13th.

Hope you will get yours soon. curious how they operate that some of the cases can be approved in the system by the io right on spot and some need to go back to supervisor, even though the io said he would approve it in our case.

Thank you! Yeah, me too I guess it's just a matter of luck during interview on which IO you will be dealing with. If IO is disorganized like mine then you're out of luck. Imaging I was RFE'd for no reason but I still send the response to RFE then the Infopass officer told me the RFE was acknowledged on 9/13 (month after interview). Why would it take that long to check if response to RFE was received, right? Then it just went to the supervisor on 11/9. Ridiculous.

I hope you get yours soon too!

Employment Based Green Card Interview and the first entry into the US

Hello: had my interview on 11/7, was nervous as hell. Everything seemed to be going fine until the last question the office asked ?when was your first entry into the US., and I replied March 30th, 2000. The officer replied that this entry isn?t stamped in the passport neither I had an I-94 from 18 years ago. Was given the paper saying that my case is being held for review. I was truthful about my first entry into the US, but not sure what will happen now. I am just looking for positive feedback from others. Pleas advise if someone has gone through the same or a similar situation. Thank you.

Omg same situation, we got to interview on Oct 12, and the IO said that we will know the decision within 90 days, it's been a month and we haven't heard back anything about that. I'm starting to worry and want to get an Infopass but it's so hard to make an appointment, there's no available days at all TT_TT

You can try to raise SR with level 2 officer.
Are you employment or marriage base? Where did you have your interview?

My case is marriage base and the field is Houston, TX. Do you know how to call and talk to a IO ? Cuz I tried to call but it?s all through a phone talking.

There's no option to talk to an IO from the call center. You can request a level 2 officer at least or some thread says there's a level 3 officer too, maybe they have better information about your case than a level 1 officer. You can also try an Infopass scheduled to your local office.

Based on my Infopass schedule last week, it didn't help a lot except for telling me that my file is already with the supervisor for review which I didn't get that info from the level 2 officer. So now I am still waiting, the Infopass officer also stated that it may take up to 120 days from date of interview. I am close to that as I was interviewed Aug 13th. So I'm expecting on or before Dec 13th if everything falls into place.

What is frustrating is that nobody knows exactly how cases are processed and everything just seems random.
