Anyone here from Orange County, California filers? I am a Sept 2017 filer and just had our interview at Sta. Ana field office last Nov. 2, 2018.
A day before the interview, we received a received a letter from USCIS (not in their usual notice letter/format) that my I-693 Report of Medical was expired and had to bring a new one for the interview which is not possible because our interview was already the following day, Nov. 2. My husband said that we will just have to inform the officer during our interview about the mail.
So the following day, Nov. 2 we went for our interview and everything was going well. The lady interviewing officer was very chill and kind, so the interview was just like very smooth and relax conversation. She just asked how we met, how did my husband propose, ask some questions on the pictures I provided, and information in the forms that we filled out. She also browsed our church wedding album, she said our church wedding was beautiful like the one she sees in the movie.
After the interview, she just handed us a paper "Notice of Interview Results" with the following reason ticked off: "Your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is complete."
Then she explained what does that mean, she said that her supervisor will still have to review our case and that no further requirements is needed as of the moment. They will just mail us a notice if ever they need additional documents. The final decision will be mailed to us within 120 days. But she said also that it usually takes less than that.
Because of that we did not bring up anymore the expired I-693 letter that we received since she mentioned that a notice will just be mailed if additional document will be required.
Now the waiting begins...
Anyone who had their interview as well at the Santa Ana office? Kindly share your experience too.
