Green card expedition after interview

I applied for GC through the NIW category in July 2017, my I 140 got approved in June 2018 and I was interviewed for I 485 in Aug 2018. During the interview, I was asked by the interviewer to provide another medical report since the doctor hadn?t filled the forms correctly. I sent the new report to the USCIS office the same day and since then (nearly 4 months) I haven?t heard anything back about the status of my case.
My current EAD is gonna expire in one week and I haven?t also received the new extended EAD (applied for it two months ago). My current job needs either EAD or GC to extend my appointment and I don?t know if I can expedite the processing of my GC at this time?!
Any advise is appreciated!

The receipt you got when you applied to renew the EAD should state on it that it extends the validity of your soon to expire EAD for another 180 days. That should give you time to figure out what?s going on with your green card or get the new EAD.
