My case got rejected because a misunderstanding about payment of the fees, now I have to file again.
Do I use the Alien number provided the first time I filed, or do I leave blank?

Yes and no. If you are adjusting status from F-1 under the c9 category (marriage to US citizen), for instance, you will get a new A number when you file.

We entered the A-number. And that's fine. You will just get a new one, anyhow. We figured it would just be easier for the adjudicator to put it all together. I imagine that they have to look at your F-1 file.

Take this opportunity to overload your case with evidence of bona fide marriage. People, who do so, tend to have easy-breezy interviews.
