  • "Supervisor Approval" Line

For clarification purposes (I did try to find an answer to this before so sorry if it's a repeat), the supervisor approval line isn't entirely truthful? Some people here get approvals on the spot, but my officer said my decision would be updated the day of the interview or the next (didn't happen) because all of their decisions need supervisor approval. No issues communicated. What's all that about? Is it just luck of the draw who your officer is? I assume everyone else's post-interview without decision just says that an interview was scheduled as well. Thanks all.

It seems like not all interviewing officers have the power to approve. Maybe one of the interviewers are still training or not ranked high enough.

Thanks miiki. Would it be too much to ask for them to standardize response times? :P

Thanks miiki I really wish they would standardize these things. It's a bit ridiculous that some people get a response in two months and some in two hours, and a lot of it is based on the officer they're randomly assigned.

Well, yes and no. Most people, who submit a boat load of evidence of bona fide marriage with their AOS petitions, tend to be approved either on the spot OR shortly after.

On the flip side, those who do not submit much or any evidence of bona fide marriage - other than a marriage certificate AND are not adjusting from
K-1 - tens to face delays after the interview. And that makes sense. After all, the officer has to review the evidence those folks just brought to the interview.
