Hi,
I am on a work visa, preparing to apply to adjust my status via my USC spouse, who does not make enough money to qualify. I am the primary breadwinner and I make more than enough to qualify. I understand that I may be able to include my income in the application, provided I am being sponsored by my spouse, we live together, and that I can prove my income will continue after I adjust my status.
My question is - has anyone here actually done this successfully? What did the letter from your employer say? Obviously no employer is going to promise to keep you employed, but I gather they can write a letter saying that changing my status would not change the terms of my employment.
Since I need to approach my HR department about this I'd like a letter that will satisfy US Immigration and also be acceptable to my HR dept.
Really looking for stories from people's experiences with this and informed advice, rather than opinion. (I am aware that I have an option to get a joint sponsor. My spouse is very reluctant to do that for privacy reason, but we'll see.)
