  • why some USCIS field office stopped accepting info pass

Hi, I tried to make an info pass appointment but it says that the field office doesnt accept walking or infopass appointment. This is just few weeks ago as I had miltople info pass across the year in this office.

is there any information regarding this

It's actually a good thing. They are trying to catch up. For true emergencies, you can call USCIS and they will make an appointment for you.

We will expand our Information Services Modernization Program to key field offices, beginning with the Detroit Field Office and the five offices in the Los Angeles District on Nov. 13.

This will eventually happen at all offices, but I think they started with some of the busiest offices first. Basically, they want to stop all the people making appointments just to see where their application is because the process is slow. I think I saw someone made an appoint to change their address. It ties up IOs at the office and slows down everyone?s petitions. When you call, if an appointment is actually necessary (like for an emergency AP or something), they will make it for you over the phone.

I agree. I think it's a very good thing. Luckily, POTUS only has two more years left. Apparently, a lot of the folks in rural USA, who helped elect him, are very dissatisfied with him.
