  • Biometrics - Walk-in versus going on scheduled date

    Hi there,

Just curious about people's opinion on this.

I'm still waiting for my biometrics letter and I was wondering if going for a walk-in biometrics interview is worth it in terms of kicking off the background verification process earlier than later or if it's just rude, cause we end up disrupting the process and interrupting people who have already been scheduled for that day.

    Thanks

I received the letter on Friday and walked in on Monday. My interview was scheduled on Wednesday so it definetely speeds up the process.

I would recommend doing it but I?ve heard some offices turn people away.

I don?t know about the second part of your question.

They won?t let you in without the letter in hand - they will scan a few bar codes that are on that letter before taking your info. Once you get the letter, you surely can try to walk in, worst case scenario, they decline and you come back the day of. If you live in a loaded jurisdiction, odds are it won?t speed up anything (I?m in NYC, did my bio almost 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed in my status so far!), otherwise maybe.
