  • Aos + f1 opt

    Hi all,

I am currently on my OPT period (expires in July/19) and will apply for AOS - Marriage-based Green Card in a couple of weeks.

What kind of OPT-related evidence do we need to provide on the AOS application? Does an offer/job letter suffice?

    Thank you!

    None?

They aren’t related. You should apply for an EAD I-765 category (c)(9). But its based on your I-485 and will have nothing to do with your OPT. It also won’t be restricted to any job or field of work.

I believe you'd need to apply I-131 which would be another type of EAD/Advance Parole.
      Talk to your lawyer...
Once you file the GC, if everything is in order etc, the USCIS will issues new EAD/AP card in 90 days usually.
That would mean your F1-OPT status is no more valid and you should inform you university of status change so that they can update their systems.
New EAD can be used until you receive your GC.
Submit all your existing OPT cards, I-20's, job offer letter, salary slips if any along with the documents...
