  • Parole I-131

    Greetings,

I applied for the status adjustment in July of this year and my EAD card came on the 27th of November.

Within the status adjustment I applied for the EAD and Parole. I got acceptance letters for both cases, however my EAD card came with the note that it’s “NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO US”.

I was planning to visit the family with my husband in my country and now I am lost. What should I do? Any one have any idea if it’s going to come?

It shows my card was received on the EAD case and it shows “case was received” for the travel authorization.

    I appreciate any help.
    Thank you

Clearly, USCIS error. If you filed the I-765 & I-131, that should have been a combo card. I would call right this second and ask to speak to a Level 2 officer. They're open until 9pm. Request to expedite based on USCIS error. That should take care of it. HOWEVER, I would reach out to your US Senator(s) and have them inquire on your request to expedite.

If AP comes separate, it will be a letter. Look through everything they sent you to make sure the AP wasn’t buried in the stack.

Read the confirmation for Parole, I can't remember the wording, but mine said a LETTER would be sent seperately. I didnt get a combo card.

USCIS website states that you can ask to be escalated to a Level 2 officer at any time - they will want to know your valid reason why, so have your letters etc handy

Why they send a letter to say they are sending you another letter is beyond me, but USCIS is a mystery unto itself

In my experience, I didn’t have to tell anyone any reason why I wanted to speak with an officer

The trick is to call as early as 8am. Everyone is still in a good mood at that point.

Couldn’t agree anymore. And by saying 8am , we really mean 8am. No wait time or anything (in my experience)

I spend more time explaining my accent to female officers, doesnt seem to help with the process no matter how much they like it

                  Hi guys.

I called to the USCIS and talked to a level 2 officer.

She said it can take up to 30 days after the approval to get the Parole Letter.

I am frustrated. I don’t really know what to think or expect anymore.
