My husband went and did his bio appointment November 1st and we haven't seen an update from fee was received since then.. should we be concerned? Also, my husband is getting job offers and we don't have his EAD yet... can we expedite this based on an offer letter? We are living with my parents and our two kids. This is a really trying time. I'm also not working because of being off for surgery earlier this year. Financially this is really hard!! Any advice or insight?

I wouldn’t be worried about any online updates. Those are not live and are sometimes delayed. Go ahead now and have your husband expedite his EAD.

hang in there! If your husband is getting job offers, all he needs really is the letter. You may show evidence of financial hardshihp, as well, to add weight to the request. You had surgery and are not able to work. All those extenuating circumstances. I would be very concise though. The main thing is the offer letter. This letter does not have to be some elaborate letter that outlines all the terms of employment. Literally, it can just be the email offering the job. I believe that officers call and verify the offer for employment.
Here is what you do:
1. Call USCIS right at 8am and request to expedite the I-765 AND I-131. This will ensure that your spouse receives the combo card, OK?
The level 1 rep will give you two referral IDs. Write them down. They will almost instantly show up on your egov account history, though. BUT STILL - write them down. No worries, you will only have to provide evidence for the I-765. However, this way you will be sure that they will approve both ONCE the background checks are finished. (There is no way to rush them)
2. Insist that their response comes via email. Provide them with an easy-to-spell email. Use the NATO alphabet when spelling.https://en. ******** *.org/wiki/NATO_phonetic_alphabet
3. As soon as you get off the phone, you will reach out to your US Senator(s) to assist you with the request to expedite. You can find your Senators here. https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact
If you get nowhere with your Senators, then move on to your Congressperson. https://www.house.gov/representative...representative
Last but not least, you may try the Ombudsman if all else fails. https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance
4. Remember that doing all of this is as much as anyone can do. The background checks can take a long time and again, there is no way to rush them.
All the best,

Originally posted by UScitizenFilingforspouse View PostIt does matter. The reps at the contact center will only speak to the petitioner IF the beneficiary is present and verbally authorizes the USC petitioner. They always ask for my husband to state his name, verify his identity and then grant authorization to speak to me about each and all forms. Yes, some reps want authorization for each form.
