SSN and i485

Hi guys looking for some advice.
I got my Green card in the mail today. I am just wondering when I can expect my SSN to arrive or will I have to go apply for one myself. I ticked the box on the EAD application to get one sent to me but never got my EAD.

I got my Green card in the mail today. I am just wondering when I can expect my SSN to arrive or will I have to go apply for one myself. I ticked the box on the EAD application to get one sent to me but never got my EAD.

USCIS won’t issue your EAD at this point. Its approval triggers the SSA to grant you the SSN.
I would just bring your passport and green card to the SSA and apply for one.

It find it’s quicker to just go and apply yourself. Either make an appointment or be there about 30-45 minutes before opening (if it’s anything like my local SSA office).
