  • I485 appointment cancelled

I received confirmation on 6/5 that my I-485 was ready for an interview. I finally got an interview set for 12/17 I received a call today saying that my appointment was cancelled as they hadn't received my file. I went first to the field office today with no appointment and asked why the file wasn't with them. Of course normal bs and to call customer service which I had already done but did again and got put through to a tier 2 officer that consequently did a referral and said I will receive a response by 12/27
This all being said when i received my interview it had c/o my mothers name on it. One she had never been to the USA and secondly passed away 21 years ago. I cant find anyone to help. We have paid an attorney $22,000 for nothing he hasn't even bothered to call me today after I called leaving an urgent message saying I needed to speak to him. I'm at a loss and would appreciate some advice

No, still go to your interview on that day. Reach out to your US Senator and ask them to mediate for you. But go to your appointment.

This week was my interview. Last week my status changed from interview was scheduled to case is ready to be scheduled for interview. I showed up for interview anyways and they had my information and they me in. So go for the interview and see what happens.

Last month when I received my interview letter, it was addressed with my father’s name with c/o. He has never been to usa and never applied for visiting here.

I agree with both replys below. You will still show up for your interview, cause you do not want by any chance to be rejected for not showing in your interview. Also, who knows, maybe your file will be sent in before your interview date.

Not sure about your mom's showing in the notice. If you are apply based on marriage, then just show up with your partner. IO would understand the "error" once they start reviewing your package/ start interview cause your submitted form is correct.

Good luck! And keep us posted.

You entered your father's information on your applications. They are just making sure the letter gets to the correct person. This is nothing to be worried about.
