Hi all,
we recently received a notice setting up an interview for our AOS application. One of the things listed in it that have to be brought along with us to the interview is : "A completed medical examination (Form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted within the last year)". This is a bit confusing for us. We got our medical exam signed on March 14, 2017 and included it in our AOS application package which was received on May 12, 2017 by USCIS. The receipt notice is dated May 22, 2017, but it says "Received date: May 12, 2017". This means that our I-693 should be valid for 2 years (i.e. until March 13, 2019) as described on the USCIS website (https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/H...-Chapter4.html). Now, we are wondering if the language in the interview letter is just a generic language that they use for everybody, and that they just haven't changed since they recently changed the validity details of the I-693 form, or if we it really does mean that since our I-693 was signed more than a year ago we are definitely required to submit a new I-693.
Does anyone know if it is a good idea to just go without the I-693 to the interview and if we are asked about it, then tell them that ours should be valid according to the current directions? Or is there a risk of our application being denied because of it. I'm guessing the worst that will happen is that they will give an RFE for it and we'll have to send it later. But, I'd like to know if there is even a small risk of the application being denied if we don't bring a new I-693 with us.
Thanks!
