  • Hello everyone,

I am feeling quite desperate seeing your circumstances and looking at mine. Here is my situation

    Greencard through spouse
12/28/2018 - mailed application from Fairfax, VA
12/31/2018 - received at Texas lockbox
    01/04/2019 - Check cashed

That's it. I have not received the I-797c and no further processing has been done.

02/28/2019 - Called and created inquiry regarding missing I-797c
03/06/2019 - Inquiry marked as "completed" on USCIS tracking website

But still no letter. I have called so many times, and they say the letter is on the server but not yet printed and not yet mailed so I should keep waiting. My drivers license expired 01/24/2019 and I could lose my job because I cannot drive and driving is essential to my job. I cannot schedule InfoPAss with the Washington D.C. office because the slots are always booked. I have looked for months.

I have scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks with the office in Norfolk, even though that is not my jurisdiction, because I am hoping they will see my VA drivers license and accept me for the appointment anyway.

Why is this happening? Most people on this forum are having their processing happening so quickly. Am I just unlucky? And what can I do?

      • Sorry this is happening to you. Usually we receive the NOA a couple of weeks after the checks are cashed.
        I found this:
If your payment was cashed, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283
        have you called that number?

Ask for your receipts numbers, they should have them because is more than 30 days since check cashed.

Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox

From what I read, if you file I-485 and I-130 as spouse you should send the package to Chicago. Maybe that's the problem?

Yes, That's what I was thinking and asked what application was sent to Texas.

                • Hi Guys!

                  Just got interviewed today.
Time so fast and we are both very nervous. I really dont know what will happen next since the IO did not advise if the case is approved.
Anyway, the interview is around 9:15AM and it took more than 1 hour. I dont know why but the IO did not actually had the oppurtunity to ask about the wedding. She also did not ask about the pictures but we ask her if she wanted to see it at the end of the interview. She did not look at it but she said she will check and make copy. I guess we really run out of time to tell our whole story. Hahaha

We went back to the lobby while IO is making copies of the original docs. She gave us the oridinals and went out of uscis office. I am really afraid now of what will happen next. I got status on case tracker app that "New Card is being Produced" for I-485 but the status on My USCIS did not changed. Should i assume that the case was approved given that notification from Case Tracker? Is there still a chance that they will send me RFE?

                  Thank you!

Sometimes the status only change in one site, as long as it changes to "New Card is being Produced" then you will get your GC and you are approved. Congrats. I don't think they will send RFE becuase they are sending the GC, it should arrive in about 5-7 days.

                    • It is so great to see so many people making such progress in this group, having interviews already. That's really exciting!
On Friday I received 2 emails from USCIS stating that our I-765 employment authorization and I-131 advanced parole have been approved and we should look for them in the mail. I know my husband is excited to work.
Does anyone know if the SSN/card will be arriving around the same time as the employment card? We checked the box yes to get a SSN, so I'm curious to know when to expect that.
Wishing everyone a great weekend and hopefully some good news soon too!

Some people get the SSN/card around the same time, others around 7-10 days. In our case, we received the SSN/card exactly 2 weeks after EAD combo card. The SSN/card has a date 14 days after the date on the EAD combo card.

                        • Hi guys
It seems most of December filers has been getting their EAD recently, am I right?
I filed on Jan 10 and I am waiting to get mine, is it a good sign that Dec filers have been getting theirs or it doesn't really work this way with the USCIS?

Unfortunately this does not work this way many of us October filers have not gotten our EAD yet and it is still a normal wait (wait is now 5/7 months on the official website). I know of September filers who are still waiting.
