  • Testing and Interview

Hello I received this email and was wondering if anyone had this experience? If so how long after did you receive an interview letter? Or what does this letter mean? My case updated on November 28 “Case Is Ready To Be Schedule For An Interview” . I received the email today December 15. Thank you!

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

As of November 19, 2018, we are ready to schedule your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at ‪1-800-375-5283‬. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

    * Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case.
    * Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times.

Hi, I got the same email yesterday and my case updated already on November 13th to „ready to be scheduled for interview“. I think maybe their notification system didn’t work properly and they just sent out the emails to let us know (or their automated system did, not sure what triggers the emails) - i like to believe that means someone was looking at our cases but not sure if that’s right lol

You are now in the "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" pool. From this point onward, it all depends upon your field office. People in Jacksonville get interviews within 73 days of filing. People with the Minneapolis Field Office get interviews within 450+ days of filing. It all depends upon your field office. Check the processing times for NOLA and look for others under the same jurisdiction. That will give you a better sense of your field office's current pace.

User Lolita0001 is in the same jurisdiction.

Yes, all it means is that your case was reviewed and there is no required initial evidence missing. It is complete and interview-ready. It will stay in the "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" pool until USCIS moves it to the Pick List. Then, whoever handles the picklist will request your file to be transferred to the field office.

Long story short. It's random. Just be patient and do not go crazy. Start looking for jobs. Get a job offer and expedite your EAD/AP.

Im not too worried since im currently working thanks to DACA but i’ve hear Its taking long for interviews. I’ll start panicking in a few months since my work permit expires. I read that they are skipping EAD process for people that have one through DACA which hopefully i’ll get an interview before it expires.

I know what post you’re referring to and there is not much concrete behind that observation. There was a system glitch earlier this year which scheduled folks who had just filed in 2018 - ahead of cases filed in 2017.

Yes, some of them happened to be DACA, but that glitch was just that - a glitch. So before your EAD expires, place a request to expedite based on job loss/ financial hardship.

My 90 minutes GC interview has already happened earlier this week. Yesterday evening I received text messages for both myself and my wife that 'On December 14, 2018, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSC00000000, and will mail it to the address you gave us.' and today afternoon I received two emails stating what you have copied here. So I am really confused why did they send these strange emails. I posted previously this also

Thanks I read the forum and it looks like a glitch. How long did it take to get an interview?
