Just saw this article. Would be great if you could skip second interview but it states that it’s only for cases filed after dec 10 this year:

Also since u still have to petition. File a snow collect evidence. And pay it’s not super great.

Here’s the new policy guideline https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/...form-I-751.pdf

But, didn't they just change the regulations to make it so that pretty much everyone needs to do an interview?!?

As I was preparing for my AOS, I read that most employment-based AOS did not require an interview until they made that change. Now they're saying marriage-based doesn't need an interview if there is enough evidence... it would still benefit everyone since the local offices would have less interviews to do so it would go faster, but it seems like a two contradictory changes in a row.
      Employment-based AOS (I-140, I-485, I-131, I-765)
      08-24-18: Case was Received
      10-10-18: Biometrics appointment
      10-11-18: I-131 and I-765 approved
      10-18-18: Combo Card in hand
      01-31-19: I-140 approved
      05-09-19: Ready for an Interview
      05-13-19: Interview is Scheduled
      06-24-19: Interview
      06-28-19: Received Green Card

Never trust the Miami Herald! LOL, they will say anything to sell those papers.

Historically, USCIS has waived interviews for I-751 petitions. The language was not this clear, though. However, the majority of folks would just get their greencards in the mail. USCIS would only call for interview folks who had been assigned a high fraud level.

This new guidance does seem to reassure adjudicators that if there were no major deficiencies with your evidence at the time of AOS and they interviewed you, then they will waive the interview.

I should add that all this interview waiving led to major backlogs for I-751s. As it is, people are becoming eligible for naturalization before USCIS even touches the I-751. Of note: you may apply for naturalization even if your I-751 is pending. That actually speeds up the process.
