  • Use current I-485 form and Question about I-693 resubmission

We have one comment and one question:

Our concurrent filing of forms was returned to us today with a Form I-797C, Notice of Action: The I-485 form that was used was not the current version. Don't make our mistake and only look at the form's expiration date at the top of the form. The the more important date is on the bottom left of the form--make sure there are no other forms with an earlier date. We used an I-485 form dated 06/26/2017 (expiration 06/30/2019) when in fact the current form is dated 12/13/2017 (expiration 06/30/2019). Only six months difference, but our mistake will translate into a couple of weeks delay on our end.

That is not a major issue for us, however we now have two questions:

All of our forms were scanned with codes/numbers on the bottom of each page, including the I-693 Medical form, which was also opened and scanned. Do we now have to go back to the doctor's clinic and have them reseal this form before we resubmit? I have emailed the lockbox facility for their answer but thought I would also ask on this forum.

We plan to resubmit all the existing forms with the scanned numbers on the bottom, assuming they are already in the system.

    Hi!

We had a rejection notice for some issue with the payment, happened that since I got the notification in the email I called doctor’s office and they gave me another signed form in a sealed envelope, I was about to mail it when the USCIS mail came home with some green sheet with the instruction of putting that at the top of the package, basically only needed to redo the form for the payment and nothing else, so you must be ok with the one you sent first since they already captured it .
    Good luck 🍀
